Recently I was performing the upgrade of the Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager from 8.10 to 8.12 using the ISO file following the below procedure:
Download the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager virtual appliance from the VMware downloads portal.
Upload the ISO to the datastore.
Attach the ISO file to the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager virtual machine under the CD ROM drive and select the ISO which was uploaded to the datastore.
Login to Lifecycle Manager UI click Lifecycle Operation and click on Settings and navigate to System Upgrade --> Select CD ROM and click on Check For Upgrade.
After an update is detected, click Install Updates for completing the installation.
Note: Before starting the upgrade make sure you create a snapshot of the vRSLCM appliance.
Once you click on Install update the upgrade starts and wait until the upgrade completes. After like 15 mins the upgrade was completed successfully.
Post the upgrade completion the vRSLCM version was showing as 8.12.0.7
But when I checked in the vRSLCM appliance console it is showing as 8.10.0.6.
Do note that this is a Cosmetic issue in nature and does not impact functionality. Also, this issue does not affect new installations this is seen only in upgrades.
You can refer to this VMware Document for the prerequisites.
