You can follow the below steps to Deploy Site Recovery on-premises and create a site pair:
Deploy On-Premises Site Recovery Components
Register the On-Premises vSphere Replication Instance with the vCenter Server
Deploy On-Premises Site Recovery Components:
You download and deploy the on-premises Site Recovery components.
In the VMware Cloud console browser tab, navigate to the SDDC summary page
Click the Add Ons tab
Under Site Recovery, click DOWNLOAD ON-PREMISES COMPONENTS
A new browser tab to the Download VMware Cloud on AWS page opens.
Log in to VMware Customer Connect using your assigned student account email address and password
Click Login in the top-right corner of the page
Enter your student VMware Customer Connect credentials
Click SIGN IN
The VMware Customer Connect home page opens.
Download the Site Recovery components
Click the Products and Accounts menu and click All Products
Click the Products A-Z tab
Scroll down the page to locate VMware Cloud on AWS
Click View Download Components next to VMware Cloud on AWS
The Download VMware Cloud on AWS page opens.
On the Product Downloads tab, click GO TO DOWNLOADS
The Download Product page opens.
On the Product Downloads tab, click the DOWNLOAD NOW button for VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.4.x Appliance
The End User License Agreement appears.
Select the check box and click ACCEPT
The download of the Site Recovery Manager ISO begins. The download is stored in the Downloads folder of the machine.
On the Product Downloads tab, click the DOWNLOAD NOW button for VMware vSphere Replication 8.4.x Appliance
The download of the vSphere Replication ISO begins. The download is stored in the Downloads folder of the machine.
Mount the vSphere Replication ISO and vSphere Site Recovery ISO
Open a Windows Explorer window on the desktop and navigate to the Downloads folder
Double-click the VMware-vSphere_Replication-8.4.x-xxxxxxxx.iso file to mount it
Double-click the VMware-srm-va-8.4.x-xxxxxxxx.iso file to mount it
Log in to the vSphere Client in the vCenter Cloud Gateway Appliance
Open a browser tab to the vCenter Cloud Gateway at https://xx.xx.xx.xx/ui/
Enter the login credentials
User name: administrator@vclass.local
Password: Password
Click LOGIN
The vSphere Client opens and shows both the VMware Cloud SDDC and the on-premises environments.
Deploy the on-premises vSphere Replication Appliance.
Right-click the SA-Management cluster and select Deploy OVF Template
The Deploy OVF Template wizard opens.
On the Select an OVF Template page, select Local file and click UPLOAD FILES
A Windows Explorer Open dialog box opens.
Navigate to the mounted vSphere Replication ISO bin directory
Select the vSphere_Replication_OVF10.ovf, vSphere_Replication-support.vmdk, and vSphere_Replication-system.vmdk files and click Open
Click NEXT
On the Select name and folder page, enter SA-VR-01 and click NEXT
On the Select a compute resource page, select SA-Management and click NEXT
On the Review details page, click NEXT
On the License agreements page, select the I accept all license agreements check box and click NEXT
On the Configuration page, select 2 vCPU and click NEXT
On the Select storage page, select Datastore-01
In the Select virtual disk format drop-down menu, select Thin Provision and click NEXT
On the Select Networks page, select sa-mgmt from the Destination Network drop-down menu and click NEXT
On the Customize template page, configure the options for the appliance Click NEXT
On the vService bindings page, leave the default values and click NEXT
On the Ready to complete page, click FINISH
The SA-VR-01 virtual machine is deployed to the SA-Management cluster. This process takes approximately 5 minutes
Deploy the on-premises Site Recovery Appliance
Right-click the SA-Management cluster and select Deploy OVF Template
The Deploy OVF Template wizard opens
On the Select an OVF Template page, select Local file and click UPLOAD FILES
A Windows Explorer Open dialog box opens
Navigate to the mounted vSphere Site Recovery ISO bin directory
Select the srm-va_OVF10.ovf, srm-va-support.vmdk, and srm-va-system.vmdk files and click Open
Click NEXT
On the Select name and folder page, enter SA-SRM-01 and click NEXT
On the Select a compute resource page, select SA-Management and click NEXT
On the Review details page, click NEXT
On the License agreements page, select the I accept all license agreements check box and click NEXT
On the Configuration page, select 2 vCPU and click NEXT
On the Select storage page, select Datastore
In the Select virtual disk format drop-down menu, select Thin Provision
Click NEXT
On the Select networks page, select sa-mgmt in the Destination Network drop-down menu and click NEXT
On the Customize template page, configure the options for the appliance Click NEXT
On the Ready to complete page, click FINISH
The SA-SRM-01 virtual machine is deployed to the SA-Management cluster. This process takes approximately 5 minutes
Power on the SA-VR-01 and SA-SRM-01 virtual machines
Right-click the SA-VR-01 virtual machine and select Power > Power On
Right-click the SA-SRM-01 virtual machine and select Power > Power On
Register the On-Premises vSphere Replication Instance with the vCenter Server:
You register and configure the on-premises vSphere Replication instance.
Log in to the vSphere Replication Appliance Management interface
Open a browser tab to the vSphere Replication Appliance Management interface at https://vSphere-Replication-FQDN:5480
Enter the login credentials
User name: admin
Password: Password
Click LOGIN
The vSphere Replication Appliance Management interface summary page appears
Configure the vSphere Replication appliance and connect it to the vCenter Server
On the vSphere Replication Appliance Management interface summary page, click CONFIGURE APPLIANCE
The Configure vSphere Replication window opens.
Enter SSO FQDN for the PSC hostname
Enter administrator@vsphere.local for the User name
Enter Password
Click NEXT
A Security Alert window opens.
Click CONNECT
Select SSO FQDN and click NEXT
A Security Alert window opens.
Click CONNECT
Enter Site-A for the Site name
Enter administrator@vclass.local for the Administrator email
Click NEXT
Click FINISH
Configuring vSphere Replication begins. This process takes approximately 3 minutes.
