VMware Cloud Identity and Access Management

Add a User and Assign Service Access Roles


NOTE: Organization members do not have the required permissions to access VMware Cloud Identity and Access Management.


You use identity and access management settings to add permissions for a new user.


You log in to the VMware Cloud services console so that you can assign service access roles.

  • In the browser, open your VMC SDDC manager page

  • Click SIGN IN

  • In the Email address text box, enter your email address and click NEXT

  • Enter your password

  • Click SIGN IN

  • In the SDDC console, click the VMware Cloud Services Applications Menu icon (nine-dot icon) in the top-right corner


  • Under ADMINISTRATION, select Identity & Access Management

  • On the Active Users page, click ADD USERS


  • In the Email Addresses text box, enter an email address

  • In the Assign Organization Roles drop-down menu, select Organization Owner

  • Select the Support User check-box

  • Under Assign Service Roles, click ADD SERVICE ACCESS

  • In the first drop-down menu for assigning service roles, select VMware Cloud on AWS

    • In the second drop-down menu (with roles), select below:

    • Administrator,

    • NSX Cloud Admin

    • NSX Cloud Auditor

  • Click ADD SERVICE ACCESS

  • In the first drop-down menu, select VMware HCX with the role Administrator as the default value

  • Click ADD SERVICE ACCESS

  • In the first drop-down menu, select VMware vRealize Log Insight Cloud with the role vRealize Log Insight Cloud Admin as the default value

  • Click ADD SERVICE ACCESS

  • In the first drop-down menu, select VMware vRealize Network Insight Cloud with the role Network Insight Administrator as the default value


  • Click ADD

  • Click the Pending Invitations tab

  • Your new user persists under Pending Invitations until the user accepts the invitation


  • You can also resend or revoke an invitation from this page

  • You log out of VMware Cloud and log in as the newly created user

  • From the User Name drop-down menu, click SIGN OUT. You are signed out of VMware Cloud services

  • Click SIGN IN AGAIN

  • Click Sign in using the newly created account

  • In the Email address text box, enter the new email address and click NEXT

  • Enter your new password

  • Click SIGN IN
